# Privacy

What this website collects, what the firm does with it, and how to reach somebody about it. In plain English, because a privacy policy nobody can read is not a privacy policy.

## What the site collects

There is no account to create and nothing to sign up for. Reading these pages asks nothing of you. Three things collect anything at all: the free case review chat, the ordinary records kept by the server that delivers the pages, and audience measurement.

### The free case review chat

The chat at the bottom right of every page asks a short, fixed set of questions: what kind of matter it is, which county it is in, whether there is a court date, then your name and the best number to reach you. It is a set sequence of questions rather than a conversation with a model, and it exists for one purpose, so that a partner can call you back about what you described.

What you tell the chat is not privileged before the firm agrees to represent you. Keep it to the general nature of the problem and how to reach you. The [Terms of Use](/terms) explain why.

### Server records

Like every website, this one is delivered by a host that keeps ordinary request records: the internet protocol address that asked for a page, the browser and device, which page was asked for, and when. They exist to keep the site running and secure. They are not used to build a profile of you.

### Audience measurement

Page views are counted with Vercel Web Analytics, which reports how many people read which pages. It sets no advertising cookie and does not follow you to other websites. There is no advertising pixel on this site, from any network.

## What is stored on your own device

If you switch a page between its Human and Machine reading, that single preference is saved in your browser so the site remembers it next time. It stays on your device and is never sent to the firm.

## What the firm does with it

What you enter in the case review is used to return your call and is kept with the firm's record of who has contacted it, the same as a message taken over the telephone. Measurement is read in aggregate, to see which pages are useful. Nothing collected here is used to advertise to you.

## The firm does not sell your information

Information from this site is never sold, rented or traded. It is not given to advertisers, data brokers or lead generation services. It goes only to the people who keep the site running, the host and the analytics provider, acting on the firm's instructions, and to anyone the law or a court requires.

## Information about children

This site is written for adults. The firm does not knowingly collect information from children through it. A parent who needs to talk about a child's case should telephone the office rather than use the chat.

## Your choices

You can read every page on this site without sending anything. If you have used the case review and want what you sent removed, telephone the office and ask. A person at the firm handles the request.

## Changes to this policy

The firm may update this policy. The date at the top says when it last changed.
